Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

We're about $50 away from a year of hosting being paid for.

The position has not changed. We're still $50 short.

So we have 1497 members since the saving of this forum by elricfate on 2 June 2017. I see we have only 7 members that have 3 rankings for posts and most of these have given except two that have disappeared due to illness. There are 76 members with 2 rankings for posts that have between 50-300 posts. And we can not even get a year worth of fees in donations? My check is going out snail mail since it is taking so long to get to the post office for a M.O. due to health issues. That will put us over for a one year renewal, but with 76 strong members that have great posts I would think we can come up with some more cash for a 3 year renewal. So I guess maybe we need another $600 for a 3 year term?

Please think about this. At $50 for a small donation that is only 12 members, at $25 per donation that is only an additional 24 out of the 76. Then we have the crew that have fewer than 50 posts, that could be around 1440 members. If only about 1/8 of these members (180) could give say $5, that would provide an additional $900 a full three years term to keep the forum going.

Ya, I am old, retired, cheep, no money, with no retirement since I was always working on a project by project basis in archaeological jobs, but still could get up 50 bucks to keep this great forum going. I ask all members that enjoy this forum, Please consider a donation, any amount will help, if you dislike pay pal like I do, just send in a check or postal money order snail mail to Seth:
Lets fill his mail box with checks, so many he can not get it open.
If you wish to donate, use the donate button above next to the FAQ and Rules links. That will let you donate from a paypal account or credit card. If you wish to send a donation check, please send to:

I checked into a few old computer wiz kids I know from arch., but most are academics with a strong anti gun mind set. So I struck out. There must be at least one gifted member that is into computers that can volunteer to help Seth. It is time to put your knowledge to work in helping run the tech. side of the forum. Most of the old guys like me have an ancient computer and have a hard time just posting photos.

 Here is an idea, it's Memorial Day weekend. How about a donation in the name of your favorite vet you wish to honor in his or her name. For mine, I'll say for my dad, Reginald- a WW II Marine. So who is a Navy guy that wants to out do a Jarhead in total?
And the total of the check that went out today is 60. Certainly we can get to $900 by the end of Memorial Day :D Semper Fi!

GREAT IDEA!
Maybe have a "memorial wall" post with the names of those honored as well?

I'm good with it being in the announcements section. Put their name here and we'll honor them there. Mods can do that, easily

Can't get PayPal to work so will send a check ASAP. With 1400+ members at $25.00 each we could fund this site forever. Do the math!
182+ posts before the old forum crashed. :violin:
