Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Whoda thunk I'd neeed this, (French dingus) but I do!

I would never have admitted to "needing" a combination 2X 13 score counting, hyper magnetic, 1 metre rule with a key ring on a long string, but apparently I do!
I have to salute the ingenuity of our French comrades!

Then my mail arrived today, carried by a slightly grumpy mail carrier (it's really heavy)

Is that similar to Bocce? I have played that before. Up there with curling on my excitement meter.

LOL

Kidding aside it is definitely a game of skill

Yes! Bocce is the Italian version of "Boule", which has several variants, some you can run 3 steps & throw, some have a shorter court & you must have both feet on the ground.
I played the Southern French version (Petanque) with my friends in Northern France, where they called it "Boule(s)".
:o
It gets a lot more exciting if you play French style (for money), while drinking!
I've been casually looking for a decent set for several years. Most of the on line stuff is utter rubbish because they have the wrong count for the balls so you can't actually play with them.
Now add in the "Middle Eastern IED" challenge!
( yup randomly made exploding balls, from poor manufacture)
& it'll make your Gauloise fall off the bottom lip.
