Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Israeli Mauser No.2
Thank you. A very hard to find lion crest- I have never seen one I could buy at a show. A rare version and soooooooo sweet. A rather fantastic grained stock. Can I repost these on my K98k post rather than just a link? I will actually post both- a source link and repost the photos.

Yes, beech stocks are known for light spots, commonly called in the wood trade as ‘maggots’.
Presently I am refinishing a cheap Traditions percussion rifle to give to a kid and the stock is loaded with them. When the stock was light in color - they weren’t that attractive - but I stained it in a Win-like brown/red stsin and now they ‘pop’ and give it a unique character.
NICE 7.62 Mauser ... still looking for ‘mine’, haha!

Re: Mauser No.2
I've 2 of these historic pieces. Both reflect Czech, German and Israeli Markings.
I got extremely lucky neither has been counterbored and both are VG/EXC condition for wood and metal. I got both from FF&F and can keep groups at 100 yards 3/4 inch +/-
One has a full fledged Star of David the other shows smaller Israeli stampings, not as large as the Star of David, but definitely there and
Extremely glad to have both. There is a video on their manufacture on Amazon.com and I used to have in-article on the old forum which got ozoned. I have some old hard drives and will try and look for back up copies.

I would be very interested in the old forum articles when you find them.EdHoffer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 7:59 pmI've 2 of these historic pieces. Both reflect Czech, German and Israeli Markings.
