The floor plate/spring/follower pivots on a pin through the magazine/trigger guard. I have a perfect magazine missing this pin, and I have a grungy, working magazine on a sporter. I want to change the pin from the grungy magazine to the new one then swap the working parts to make a primo magazine on my sporter.

Does anyone know how to do this?

I haven't done it, but it looks to be rounded collars that the pin goes through. the pin is flared like a rivet to hold it in place. You may be better off getting a stripped mag/triggerwell rather than try and redo the rivet and collars.
I believe originally they designed it for a sling swivel placed in that area of the mag and the floorplate/springs attached to the swivel the same way as the rivet/pin.

Dang. I was afraid of that.

However, the flares on either side of the rivet heads are so symmetrical, I find it hard to believe that these were peened over on each rifle. All these "rivet heads" look remarkably similar on all my Mosins, so I thought there might be a way to get a new pin and put it in.

Maybe someone else will come up with a solution.

You might visit a local machine shop that has riveting tools.
