Geez, thats a damn fine buritto you are tossing around there.. I hope this is no tease talk...
I eat one every day myself for lunch. I currently have a surplus of el monterey chicken rice amd bean burittos, but i hope to have a bigger variety should i wn. :)

And Hippycrowe i remember seeing pcs of yours. I on't get to shoot much so ammo cost isn't a big problem. As to the weight, i need the exercise. Handweights are just so boring.

I had 7 mags and an ammo belt I would walk back to the woods and shoot all 7 mags by the time I got back I was tired lol. The guys who had to carry them in battle were real men.

One more thing that shocked me on the 1918a3 or any BAR.. I cannot believe the box of pieces you have & things you have to do to take them down and clean them.

Now was it impossible, no, I could do it so it, So that shows that any simple monkey could be trained to do it. But I would not want to be doing this in a dark muddy foxhole with someone out in the dark screaming at you.

I just do not think there were many stoppages with the things in combat

My Dad made it through his share of the korean war, 52-53 carrying one. He came out of it a bigger gun guy after. :)

My dad once told me he often wore two belts on patrol. And other guys carried extra.
He also said when coming back from pattols, ehen it seemed lokely they wouldn't need it, they'd dump excess ammo in rice padfies.

You know.. Just because of the Vagaries of luck it seems like I am not going to get a Buritto out of this...

Tell you what I had really been thinking of this shoot and it would be fun for all..

I have a 1918a3.. I say to one and all lets meet down in Florida for shoot.. Bring ammo.. Maybe a couple of neat guns (you all know whats neat) .. Its cold up here.. Be a great way to meet some of the people on here..

You can bring that Buritto, this way you will not be stuck with all that PPU ammo..And you will want to bring ammo because Hippycrowe is right, even though the thing is Semi auto.. you burn through the ammo. Just watch the end of San Pebbles or Kirby in any Combat episode and you will not be able to hold back.

But you feel good about yourself afterwards..

And we can have a contest afterwards and the winner gets to clean it..

Sounds like fun. I was going to use my stash of match handloads i got from a frisnd. I usdd to usr it down south in my rifle clubs monthly matches. Fsr more accurate than i was. :)
But plan B was to buy a can of ppu. :) just depended on how many showed up.
Love Kirby and Combat. Sand Pebbles was Loonnggg , but interesting. Steve really looked like he knew what he was doing when it came to guns. Like when he flios up the sight ladder on his 03, most actors wouldn't think to do that.
I have a big freezer i helped clean up just the other day , so plenty of room to stock up on a variety of fine El Monterey s line of buritos and chimycangas. :)
Those who saw my facebook postings may have noticed i was including #elmonterey . It didn't occur to me at the time to straight up ask them for help, but can you imagine the possible response? Either a million entries or God forbid find out they don't like guns. I would hate to have to find a new supplier. :)
" what you dom't know..."
As to cleaning, that was always my thing. Cleanup after a range trip. If its new to me i don't mind. But if i didn't get a go, well not so much. :)
Again, thanks guus.

Ok Lets see if this can happen.. I live about 1 hour from the Daytona area.. So if you know of a range up that area would permit such a shindig??

I can and will look into it. I know of two ranges here, though i have nevet used them. One in holly hill, the other over the county line in flagler.
But if that fails we have 11 acres and a teramite so can put up a gpod backstop here.
As to your buritto, anyone here is welcome to stop by and have lunch. I like shooting the breeze near as much as shooting guns. Judt drop me a private message for my address.
Look forward to meeting you all. :)

Edit. 11 acres, not 111. Sadly.

I have an eclectic mix. Mostly pre 1950. I like the old stuff. :)
