Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Do not want to comment on the price but this looks real shinny new.. plus nice wood

Re: Enfield no 1 Mk 5
I had to print those pictures out. I'd buy it at $400 if I saw it at a gun show.... ya I am cheep, but the price is for high rollers.
They fail to show any stock cartouches or marks, I thinkest...
that the finish might be refinished. I am not sure from the pictures. It appears odd. If no stock stampings, it's a cheep $200 refinished Enfield
Note liberty's description:

Note liberty's description:
Wood stock set is sound, handsome color tone, appears lightly refinished and smooth.
To old to fight and to old to run, a Jar head will just shoot and be done with you.

Re: Enfield no 1 Mk 5
The glossy finish devalues it as its no longer "Original" but sheer scarcity of the trials rifles (only 22,000 made) drives the price All matching & very nice condition (except the refinish)drives it further. If it's $2,200 refinished imagine what it would go for in mint condition!

Re: Enfield no 1 Mk 5
I do not know what stamping the stock is suppose to have here.. Below is an example you can see that the stock went through a factory refurb, you can see the
replaced wood at the top & bottom of the butt stock. But this does not show any stamps.. Now maybe the factory refurb took them out..
This one is stamp in the disk "N" which I think is for navy. Where most of these went. By the way this rear sight I think is the best, big, fragile but it frames the targets surroundings.

I know the refinished and glossy look drags down the collectors value, but the sparkle adds somethingTommy Atkins wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 3:08 pmThe glossy finish devalues it as its no longer "Original" but sheer scarcity of the trials rifles (only 22,000 made) drives the price All matching & very nice condition (except the refinish)drives it further. Here is a better intact example, a collector's treasure: see link with tons of pictures that I also down loaded and printed out. One fine rifle. See wood Stampings shown on an intact wood stock, an intact Enfield wood finish. This was the one to buy, Liberty is way out of whack. Both rifles provide examples of what not to do to a stock, and what to look for in a stock finish.

I had no idea they were worth that much! I paid 450 for mine in 2004. Talk about inflation.

Re: Enfield no 1 Mk 5
Prices are insane.
My Sporterised No5 Mk1 is worth about $350 (street value)!
My ShtLE No1 MkIII with the P-H 5A is going for $650(ish)!
My No4 Mk2 unwrapped mummy is worth more now unwrapped & fired than it was as a minty mummy when I got it.
& so on & so on.
