Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Israeli K98

It is interesting the different markings and black paint and how each rifle looks. Each has a restamped matching bolt. Yours has a normal trigger guard, mine a winter larger trigger guard??? Your stock looks rubbed down mine was oil soaked. The dog beat Guatemalan rifles with CAI import marks and a secondary dot matrix serial number on the receiver from 2004 did not have matching bolts, sewer pipe barrels and really beat stocks. Vandle, I guess we were both lucky. Is yours import marked?

Hi 72 usmc
There are no import marks on the rifle. I believe it would have been imported direct into Australia.
Thank you for sharing information on your Israeli, its a very interesting subject seeing there are so
many variations to get ones head around.
Cheers

Re: Israeli K98
The Israeli contract as stated was made up of left overs, battlefield pick ups and new manufacture. Israel just needed arms, unlike the Arctic K98 which for the most part was new or NOS; this model was a cash cow to fill up the coffers of the depleted CZ government and arms industry.

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I visited Israel 10 years ago. I watched and then spoke with very kind guard ( student) which escorted turist bus in Jeruzalem. I noticed that his was armed with old, beaten M1 Carbine. It was Inland /GM production.

It seems nothing is wasted.
