Garand with muzzle brake

Post by Hippycrowe »

I bought a $49 muzzle brake for my Garand and wow it really takes muzzle climb away and most recoil. Kinda surprised me.

... would work for me too, in fact it would TOTALLY remove all climb and recoil ... because I'd NEVER shoot it like that!

They do work very nice but keep it on a private range only. The guy at the range with a aftermarket brake is quite the self centered douchbag.
I have asked them, then told them to leave.
Just because nobody can shoot on either side of them.
Aint nothing you cant fix with five gallons of diesel and a match.

Ouch ... well now, don’t I now feel like an azz ...

I’m glad Hippy that you’re still up and able to get out shootin’! Tight groups and be well!

A problem that, IMO, is worse: semi-auto shooters (esp. AR shooters) that happily let their ejected empties hit the shooter next to them. Why they don't invest the few $$ for a brass catcher on a public range eludes me--

I was participating in a match once. The empties from a Garand next to me were hitting me on the head, and they were HOT!
On a whim I had a GI pot and liner in my shooting bag so I put it on. The faint "bink" was no problem.

I also outshot the clown by a huge margin.

These make a rifle louder my neighbor didn t like us cutting wood in my dad's place we were making too much noise. Boy now I really make the place noisy. Adjustable gas plug can help keep brass from flying too far.
Ever have a Garand throw a case up in the air and go down your back ouch that hurts lol.
