See a rifle you recognize?

Post by vonalt »

Any one recognize the rifles in this print? Knabenschiessen literally means boy shooting. What it is, is a festival every year where part of the event is teens between the ages of 13-17 participate in an organized shooting competition. Women started participating in the event around 1991 so it is no longer a male only event. The festival takes place every year in Zurich and is only open to shooters from Zurich and the surrounding Canton. This event has been on going since 1656. My great grandparents hail from the Canton so I imagine some of my ancestors may have shot in the event. What the CMP should have became, in my opinion.

K-31's. The card is dated 1979 which is cool.

Ha! your right,I thought it read '79-25-5 not 1925. K-11 would be correct.

I think they are 1889s, look at the rear sights, they have the ears, front blade sight and the stacking hook

More than likely they are M1897 Kadet rifles or standard K11's.
