Been working on refinishing my RIA 1911 because of finish wear it comes in and out of a holster daily and has worn terribly. I dont have any before pics but will post a few of my results. I have been rust blueing it myself. I also did some stippling to the top of the slide for aesthetics, and some stippling to the frame to help with grip in the heat and humidity down here. The tactical model i have has sharp spots on the ambi thumb and grip safeties and they dig in when carrying so i contoured them to curve. Hopefully the finish lasts and it is more comfortable.
I took the sharp spots off the thumb safeties and the grip safety stippled the front strap and triggergaurd for better grip in the heat and stippled the top of the slide lightly for personal aesthetics also i added a set of night sights. This .45 now feels more like mine than 1 of a million.
