Outwardly, they appear to mimic the originals, now I'm interested!

Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.
Has anyone here taken notice of Brownells new AR10?

Re: Has anyone here taken notice of Brownells new AR10?
Lots of discussion on internet forums. They're making two versions. The "Dutch" version has a heavy barrel with an open flash suppressor and brown furniture; the "Portuguese" model has a lightweight barrel (1 lb. lighter) with a closed flash suppressor and black furniture. $1,700 or $1,600, respectively.
These only resemble the original AR-10's. They are not exact copies. The biggest point of discontent seems to revolve around the front sight base. Brownell's is using a modified AR-15 front sight base, which has a much less steep angle to it than the original AR-10's. Doesn't look correct at all when you see an original and Brownell's version side by side.
Here's a link to Brownell's Retro Rifle page for anyone who would like to see pictures:

Same here. I missed out on the Portuguese kits because I was too focused on building M1A's.
You can't have everything. I mean, where would you put it?
