Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

one is marked with a large L the other plain. My question is which appenture do I use at 25 meters to battle zero, been a long time?

I goofed up!

If you want to follow the US Army 250 m Zero use the attached target. Here is the US Army M16A1 zeroing target. Follow the instructions at the bottom.

I set my old '16 clone to have the short range apparatus to set for 100 yards and the L aperture for 200 yards.

L Marked

From the Soldier's Book of Common Tasks (1987)

Battlesight zero the weapon.
Note: The "L" marked aperture is used to zero the M16A1 rifle on the 25-meter range. Once the zeroing is complete, flipping the sight to the unmarked aperture will cause the sights to be zeroed for 250 meters. Flipping the sight back to the "L" marked aperture will automatically extend the zero to 375 meters without additional adjustments to the front sight post.
