Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Strange headstamp on .30-06

#1 Post by Oldpopeye1 » Mon Dec 16, 2019 6:09 pm

I came across some .30-06 at an auction a while ago and would like to try it in my Garand, but I cannot identify the headstamp. Would anyone have any idea what this stamp is? The ammo, about 800 rds., is bright and clean but I sure would like to know more about it.

That identical 30-06, same paint seal, same crimp and same “.30 / 60s” date is a common Dutch round. Yours made with the NWM milled off of the headstamp bunter.

I bought a case or two of this from Century’s warehouse during a visit back in the 1990s. Noncorrosive, Berdan and good shooting 30-06. It didn’t harm my Garand in the least.

Thanks, I appreciate the response. This stuff looks very clean, now I can't wait to try it. The weather has turned a little south here, so I'll probably have to wait until spring to get to the range. :(

I just deconstructed a couple of these cartridges and found that they are boxer primed! :?
