Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Garand found locally. Educate me, please.

I'm primarily a bolt action guy, but I stumbled into this today and it has sparked my interest.

I took pics of everything I thought was significant, but am uneducated on this rifle model.

Please review the pics and tell me what it is and what might be a good offer for it.

The parkerization looked rather good, with some surface rust on the underside on and around the trigger guard and mag plate. The bore was dark and dirty but did not look rusted. I did see rifling. A few small chunks in the wood but no deal breakers. Unfortunately, the pic of the rear nomenclature would not come out clear but the SN matches the yellow tag number.

Thanks in advance for the education.

Springfield Armory # 2,045,295 serial number puts its productiom as October 1943.
http://usriflecal30m1.com/ProductionGraph.aspx

It has a replacement barrel from Springfield dated 10 63 ( october 1963 )
The barrel is import marked by blue sky, they bought in tons of these as South Korean surplus in the 80s.
I have one myself from 1989.
It has the later post war sights. The wood looks good. But maybe newer production just because it looks good.
You will want to check the barrel throughly. The South Koreans shot the hell ut of these guns. And were very agressive with their cleaning rods. My barrel gauged over 8 on both ends. It was actually past that. The gauge didnt go that high. Sadly i didn't learn that until 10 years later. Gauges were fare and expensive when i got mine.
That said not all were as bad as mine. I have read feports ftom many that got good ones.
You could ask the shop if they have one, or ask if you can bring your own.
You will also want to ask if they could pulll a boresnake through it to see if it is pitted or frosted..l
The rifles is most likely a mixmaster of parts from different makers and eras.
Again not a bad thing in a shooter. Mine are a jumble of several. All wprk fine.
There are books that can help you learn who made every part.
I know just enough to be dangerous, and i will help you anyway i can . These are just the highlights. The guys here will have more details.
May i ask the price?
Don't want you getting hosed.

Oh, and the sling is assembled wrong. The steel soring clip goes on the part of the sling that is going through the buttstock. Its on correctly otherwise. Its just the scteel clip and swivel part ib tge wrong spot. Clear? :)
