Sizing and lubing cast bullets can be a real challenge in the winter. Many of the really good lubes are fairly hard even in the summer.
I needed to try out a new bullet and really got tire of turning on the electric heat gun and having to listen to the blower running for half an hour to get the lube flowing again.
I used to have a photo lab in my basement and was using a salvaged dental X-Ray film processors heating pad to warm up my color developing chemicals.
I dug it out today and found that if I heat up the pad for a few minutes the pad became very flexible. Once this was done I was able to wrap the heating pad around the body of the Saeco sizer and secure it with a few ty-raps.
The control device is adjustable for temperature and will hold +/- 1/2 a degree F. I set the thermostat for 105 degrees F. This seems to be the magic temp for most of the hard lubes to flow through the ports in the sizing die.
It only took about 20 minutes for the lube to go from 35 degrees in my shop to 105 degrees. ( I heat my shop with waste oil and it takes about an hour to come up to 65 degrees F for working)
Total cost was about 50 cents for ty-raps as the heating unit was salvaged as trash.

Lathesmith AKA Chris Smith of the Cast Boolit forums makes outstanding custom Star/Magma sizing dies for a decent price. He made me a custom .331 diameter sizer with dished punch for it for $54.

What size bullet sizers are you looking for? I have a Magma sizer for my home cast bullets.
