Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

59/66 SKS Restoration

#1 Post by grazza74 » Sun Sep 02, 2018 1:43 am

Hello all and thank you in advance for your input.

I "saved" a 59/66 from Bubba.....all I need to finish getting her back to factory is a cleaning rod, a wooden handguard, and a handguard hold down clip / ferrule. Any assistance in locating these parts is greatly appreciated.

Good going on the resto. The ferrule is going to be the toughie. They're getting scarce. Might see if a Tapco gas tube and HG will swap out for wood. They pop up on fleabay but are $pendy. PAX

I found a cleaning rod, I figured there'd be some ferrules somewhere. The one I got is ripped, where they forced it off over the pin/rivet. It stays put when locked into the rifle....but isn't right. I have a cleaning rod purchased.
