I put one of these on layaway yesterday and was wondering if anyone knows much about them?

What variant it could be, correct grips, and if I got possible original holster?
and is there anywhere to buy parts for this?
Is it Curio and Relic?

Serial Number is 65830
Made in France for WAC
Has 1911 grip safety

C&R - Yes! They started making them in 1921.
Original Holster - No.
Original Grips - No. The grips on the MAB's were made out of some sort of milk based plastic if I remember right. Mine shrunk and busted as with all that I have seen.
Parts - You can get grips and magazines here http://www.gun-parts.com/mab/

I think yours is a type 2, third variant.

I figured the grips weren't but the pistol fit too nicely in the holster and made me wonder, did I do good for $99

The holster may have been provided by the US importer Western Arms Corporation of Los Angeles.

WAC had MAB make special grips for the pistols it imported in the US with WAC logo instead of MAB, I like yous better!

"The holster may have been provided by the US importer Western Arms Corporation of Los Angeles." By Kelt....

They were a company that imported French and other guns in the 50's. The really liked the MAB guns, and sold a lot of them in the US...

I don't have one in hand but from memory, its disassembly is identical to the Browning "Baby".

- Safety checks.
- Re-insert empty Magazine and pull the trigger to uncock the action.
- Draw the slide to the rear until the safety can be locked to the front notch of slide.
- Turn Barrel 1/3 turn clockwise.
- Push down on safety and carefully release slide from receiver off the front.
- Remove recoil spring assembly from receiver.
- Turn barrel 1/3 turn counterclockwise and withdraw it from front end of slide.
- Firing pin, spring and cocking indicaterassy. may be removed from rear of slide.

Re-assemble in reverse order !
