Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Remington 513T with Leupold Scope

#1 Post by Sandlapper » Fri Jun 16, 2017 7:09 am

Anyone here ever handled one of these? I saw an ad on Armslist for $250, and the rifle included a Leupold scope, already mounted. I made a quick 100-mile trip and grabbed it. The best gun deal I've made in a long time.

The bad: At some point since 1943, someone drilled and tapped the receiver and installed the scope rings. Also, the adjustable peep sight was no longer with the rifle.

The good: It's in quite good condition. The bore is awesome, and the bull barrel makes it quite a shooter. I did acquire the correct peep sight for it, but my aging vision required me to remove it and go back to the scope. Makes it possible to hit ping pong balls at 100 yards from the bench.

I can get pictures up if anyone is interested in looking her over.

The Remingtob 513T's are very nice rifles. They were used extensively by the military as training and match rifles. Look yours over for any "US Property" markings.

I've got a couple, including one that came with one of those old-school externally adjustable scopes.

I've found mine to be very accurate.

Post some pics of yours when you get a chance.

I picked up one years ago. Excellent tack driver. Civilian model, but the pre-drilled holes for a scope requires that you use one of the old super long scopes that cost an arm and a leg to buy if you can find them.

My 513 came from the CMP. No scope on it.

Truth be told...I have 2 other 513T's and wanted this one for the scope and rings. Got it for about what the scope was worth.
