Hi,

A question if I may, been looking for a bayonet for my 1903A3 been told a M1 Garand will fit, found one marked AFH, flaming grenade, groove stops short of the tip 10" blade (so not cut down) but is undated is this normal ? Only seen pictures so no more information.

They are basically one and the same bayonet. AFH stands for American Fork and Hoe, the company that made it. Flaming bomb is the military's stamp. I have one made by United Cutlery that is also undated. I believe the ones that you see that are dated are the cut down ones, all I have seen were dated 1942.

as Airforce 1 notes, you are good to go with the AFH. My first was a UC from SOG in 1989. actually ordered it just before I got the rifle. then a M1905, made in 1906 at SA . It does double duty on my Remington m1903, and any of my M1's that need it. and last year i got an AFH from the CMP. couldn't beat the price. I'm still one down on bayonets. I think i'll get one moreM1, perhaps a cutdown... for variety...
All the bayonets mentioned fit all 4 of my rifles.....

Just collected the ordered bayonet, fits ok. What do you think? Not bad for £60 =$94. Not dated and several nicks on the blade.
