Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

28,519 in 2017 & 688 today 2018

Where did everyone go? Was this another great Extinction? It has been June to Feb. and only 688 + members  :shifty: The second great shut down was 26 or 27 July 2017. The new rebirth was 2 June 2017. When did the forum originate? When was the first crash and lost posts back around 2010 ???

Some of the old timers that still remember should write a short history of this forum. If I remember it was part of surplusrifle.com back in 2002 that was Jamie Mangrums???? It always had on the right side a list of rifle & pistol take down instructions for the rifle and bolt. Was it some time around 2006 that it became Surplusrifleforum.com with a new header different from Jamie's header???. The new one had a green top with an SKS and the title " Collecting and Shooting the Military Surplus Rifle SURPLUSRIFLFORUM". I first joined 4 Aug 2006.

To old to fight and to old to run, a Jar head will just shoot and be done with you.

Well my guess would be because of the name chosen for the forum - A very narrow niche of a more popular interest area.
The owner just got what he wanted.

My guess is that most of the people on the forums wound up on facebook. I see more stuff there than I do here. There are lots of young people that are interested in shooting the classics that are there. I miss the articles people wrote, range reports and competitions that took place. Rapidrob and Dale are national treasures in terms of knowledge and experience.

It seems that the demographic of people here are more collectors rather than shooters. The future is in the young and those that shoot. Just my 2 cents.

I wouldn’t know anything about FACEBOOK but yes, as you say, this forum is mainly for collectors and not shooters...this ‘is’ the reason. If there wasn’t a TRIVIA ‘channel’, I wouldn’t have a thing to say.
