Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

98 extractors

#1 Post by garageman » Sun Jul 02, 2017 10:55 pm

Are all Mauser 98 extractors the same size and length ? 8MM, 7MM or different countries ? My 7mm 1935 Brazilian extractor has seen better days. Need a replacement.

Thanks

I'd be surprised if they were all interchangeable, but some are. I've used a vz24 extractor on my Venezuelan frankenmauser bolt. Of course, there's no guarantee the Venezuelan's bolt is original to the rifle. If you have any other 98 Mausers, you might start by switching and testing other extractors on your Brazilian. Every one you find that will work increases your chances of finding a suitable replacement--provided you're willing to work with bolt parts that aren't correct and proper for the rifle. . . .

Measure it out as we have several mauser parts here. I have a box of mauser bolts and some bolt parts, triggers parts, bands, screws and who knows what else is out there....
