While looking for an inventory program for my collection, I came across this one.

http://www.burnsoft.net/Shareware_Software_Details.aspx?Main=Software&Page=Downloads&Title=Collections%20Management%20-%20My%20Gun%20Collection&ProdID=104

30 day trial, then 14.99 for registration.

Allows for photos to be uploaded, and can generate inventoy reports, as well as Bound book reports.

Also allows for ammo to be tracked.

Robert

It's been easy to use. You do have to add some information to the system such as, a few of the calibers, types of firearms, and manufacturers. The picture feature makes for keeping good insurance tracking purposes.

Harm has been working with Burnsoft through their forum to get any bugs worked out. They have even listened to some of my ideas, scarey isn't it? It's rare for 15 bucks to buy a program and help work the bugs out. I may have them talked into an inter-active reloading and ballistics program. http://sforums.burnsoft.org/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=44 check them out if you wish before you buy. They give a dang about their product.

It is a software program that resides on your computer and does not require an internet connection to use. You can download the program from their web site or order it on a cd. All info entered into the program remains on your computer.

Exactly, all the data stays on your PC. The program is in-expensive, and the authors seem very willing to address bugs, and are open to suggestions for added functionality.

harmanrk and fj3fury, thank you for the great remarks and all the useful things to add to My Gun Collection v3.x.

Everyone has been a great help in marking this product what currently is and going to be. Since its first release in Sept. 2007, there have been a number of suggestion and things that we have noticed would be useful to have on this program. In 7 Months we were able to add all the suggestion and test and release Version 2.3 by April 2008. The Quick release of version 2 was not due to errors but user feed back, and the same has occurred with the future release of version 3.x.

We value user feed back to help improve our products. Please always feel free to Drop us a suggestion ( http://suggestions.burnsoft.net ) , or post any errors or suggestions at our forum (http://forums.burnsoft.org/viewforum.php?f=44 )

We are constantly trying to find ways to improve our products, and thanks to you guys we can. Right now we are working with BlueBook Inc to have the My Gun Collection application have the ability to pull out pricing information from their application for their registered users. We are also planning to talk to the NRA to allow discounts on all our software packages to registered NRA members as well.

And as fj3fury mentioned, once we get version 3 released, we are planning on working with him to creating an inter-active reloading and ballistics program. Initially we were thinking about adding the Ballistics part to the My Gun Collection application, but after talking with fj3fury, it would be best on creating another application to also handle re-loading as well.

Upgrades to this application are free, so it’s just a one time buy. As harmanrk mentioned, please feel free to check it out ( http://mgc.burnsoft.net ), and let us know how we can improve it.

All of us at BurnSoft thank you for your support.

Burnsoft: Don't suppose your planning on a Mac OSX version? Don't have an Intel mac, so that's why I thought I'd ask.

Having a couple of guns to keep track of, I'm trying this software out. I'll post the results of how easy/data input/photo upload the program is to use.

Longshot_34, You should have gotten a email to activate the account. Just in case you didn't I activated your account manually so we can trouble shoot this issue on the My Gun Collection Forum.

Sorry Currently we don't have a Linux/MAC OSX version available. We've been thinking about creating one for Linux and MAC users, but first we would like to see how well the windows version does.
