Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

That was flipping off the charts awesome.. many thanks for posting.. That was a heck of a gun and system.
Did not appreciate all of Paulys influence till this piece.

Beautiful gun, would have loved to know the in the day cost?? And that tube patch, that was breathtaking.

Not trying to take the side of European Tyrants. But I think that considering the crap that Napoleon & his Army goes through from the summer of 1812 - spring of 1814 (Russian Invasion, Retreat and the Elba timeshare resort package). Napoleon and France were more then busy with their heads down in the crap so to speak, a new gun system would not be a hot topic. Who knows where this may have gone some years later.. like the 1830s

Amazing firearm for that early time. The auction house that sold it is by me and they do get some fantastic pieces in and I might say they go for some high prices after you figure in the vig.

A little more information on the pauly gun system, and some info in the ammo that helps explain its shortcomings

http://www.germanhuntingguns.com/featur ... -by-pauly/

Nice info on the Ammo for the Pauly shotgun, so it seems that the ammo was not up to snuff until the mid 1820s when percussion caps came into the picture.

And not to be confused here with the Pauly shotgun, this is Shotgun Pauly :)
