Bazooka Charlie

Post by vonalt »

I was reading up on WWII tank battles in Europe and I saw this link to a WWII American Flyer nicknamed Bazooka Charlie. Was curious about who this person was and what he did. His story is too good not to share.

Amazing, Love how troops will upgrade their vehicles and gear in the field.. Was talking to a guy who flew an observation plane in the Pacific Theater. He would fly with hand Grenades in glass jars and would pull the pins of the grenades in the jars and then chuck them out the window. When the glass hit the ground it would break and allow the spoon to release.

Very nice article - sounds like a pretty amazing guy - glad he survived the war in spite of all his exploits.
