Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Millitary style weapons question

#1 Post by Hippycrowe » Sun Feb 25, 2018 1:53 pm

Ok I hear all kinds of debate over civilians having millitary style weapons but hasn't nearly all guns designs been used in war. Some of the most popular hunting rifles have been used by the millitary or are based on a millitary rifle. Even the 1895 lever action was used by the Russians in WW1 ( not the Marlin 1895 style) .

You are exactly right, they say civilians should not have weapons of war because they were made to kill people, but any firearm design was at one time used as a weapon of war. So it is the slippery slope that is always being talked about

If it will kill a deer or an Elephant it will kill a person can imagine if some one used a 308 Ar rifle with soft point ammo or Hornady SST ammo. The odds of a human surviving a chest wound are low with those type of rounds.
I hope they can solve the problem

They use the term to describe AR15, AK and SKS styled rifles as they are semiautomatic and they believe they have no purpose in civilian hands. It's the new buzz word.

Though you are technically correct the Mauser style action is the basis of modern bolt action hunting rifles.

Ironically, you are many time more likely to be beaten to death than killed by an AR 15.
