On the old forum there was an engineer who knew a lot about types of oil. If that gentleman is still around I have a question for him.
When you go to a gas station there will be a brand name quart of oil selling for $7.50. Right next to it is a no name oil selling for $3.50. Is the expensive one really any better?
Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.
Quality of oil?
Re: Quality of oil?
I wonder if the $7.50 oil is Synthetic oil... that's what I use for my guns for lubricant.

Re: Quality of oil?
There's more than just "oil" in "oil", the types, volumes & quality of the additives may well vary. Unfortunately there's so much hype about "magic" additives" its hard to sort the wheat from the chaff.
