Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Oh yes, this happens regularly around here. There are quite a few snowmobiles on lake bottoms too.

I wonder if insurance companies pay when some one looses a brand new truck at the bottom of a lake.

I seriously doubt it, insurance companies aren't in the habit of paying out morons doing stupid things.

Funny lol I once saw a pic of a Ford Bronco the big one that had 4 50 gallon barrels tied to it so it would float and it was towed to shore.

It was a short box anyway, nothing of value was lost.

Insurance companies don't like paying out for things in general, when my mom's car got backed in to they tried blaming her for being there in the first place.

Well, it just happened again. A fellow drove his pickup onto a local lake and broke through. He'll have to pay to have it retrieved.

Where I live we don't get the sustained cold required to freeze a lake thick enough to support a good size adult male, much less a truck. Even the stupidest native knows better than to try it with a Ram 1500 or an Escalade, so this just doesn't happen around here. At least not in my memory.

I do have a question for those of you who do live in the colder states. Isn't there a formula using the duration of the below freezing temperatures, and the thickness of the ice to determine how much weight it will support? Seems like one would want to run the numbers before venturing out on the ice in a truck.

These guys aren't exactly brain surgeons, and some of the lakes have springs that keep the ice thin in one spot while elsewhere it is thick. Best advice: stay off, period.

Ice fishing is just not as fun as fishing in the summer. I guess alcohol and boredom make people do dumb things lol
