Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.
Here is a pair by Hall. The decorations on these and many other spurs is nickel silver, sometimes called German silver or electrum. It is an alloy of nickel, zinc and copper, but contains no silver. It is shiny and corrosion resistant, making it perfect for this type of use.

There are several vendors on ebay who sell modern cast iron spurs for decorative uses. I use one of these at the blacksmith shop where I volunteer, when I talk about cast iron.

In 1960 Harry Tompkins won the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Assn. bull riding championship and was rewarded with these Garcia spurs.

It looks to me that SRF has the makings of an online spur museum. I have been following & enjoying this thread and can't wait for the next additions! I am glad to see that they have been saved from the scrap iron pile somewhere by people that know what they are and can enjoy them.
