I have a Winchester 94 that I want to start reloading for. I've got some trail boss laying around that I was trying in some .45 colt loads so I was thinking of trying it out with some .309 cast bullets in 30-30. Has anyone tried trail boss in their 30-30 loads? If so what was your experience with it?

You should have good fun with that. Just follow directions on hodgdon.com and u should be good to go. I would load appropriate velocity for your bullet (gas check or not). Fun thing with trailboss is you can actually do load development within the safe range of charge weights.

Loaded up a few rounds with 7.4gr topped with a 150gr .309 flat point lead bullet and they seemed to shoot well. Light recoil and quiet report. I'm going to load a few more and try them out on paper so I can see what kind of groups I'm getting.
