Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Carcano M38 ex folding bayonet

#1 Post by M67 » Tue Oct 31, 2017 1:01 pm

Beside my weapons collection I like to add some accessories, militaria and bayonets.

I got this M38 just to get one of this ex-folding bayonets. I have also fix blade and folding, but not in the sam condition.
It is quite hard to find these bayonets here in Slovenia.
The bayonet still keep some parts of the plum finish at the base and on the blade. I didn't clean it perfecty. The overall condition make me happy.

The M38 bayonets I always find appealing for some reason.

Yes. Italians realized that for bayonets is better to have fix blade then folding mechanism. So they turned to more simple war production and stepped back to fix blade. I have also fix blade type (the fourth type) and the second type- folding bayonet. Still missing the first type - folding blade and long spring, not button.

Ok, So is it safe to say, these ever folded, but were made from the Molds of the folding bayonets, but set up never to fold..???

Thanks for the education, I did not know there were that many variations... Many thanks

This one is folding type (the second type). I spent many hours to make it nicer.
