Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.
100 Yard Sniper Postal Shoot June-July
100 Yard Sniper Postal Shoot June-July
1. Only military surplus rifles may be used. Bolt action or semi-auto. The rifle must have been issued by a military somewhere on the planet. Generally this means anything that's a C&R or antique and is a military rifle.
2.Sniper rifles may be scoped or you may shoot an ex-sniper with iron sights. There are, therefore, two classes for this postal shoot, Iron sights and scoped.
3. All shooting must be done at 100 yard, prone or bench. Slings are allowed.
4.You may submit up to two targets per month, the best score to be your record target.
5. Winner to be announced after the end of July!
Course of Fire: 10 Shots for record on the target at the bottom of this post. You may use a military style sling in "hasty-sling" configuration. You may take unlimited sighters at any target other than your record target from any position.
Please write your forum handle, rifle/load, position, Iron sight or scope, and score on the target.
You only get ONE record target per month, so make sure your shots are good ones. Please annotate the target before you scan it or take a picture of it.
The classes are:
June Iron
June Scoped
July Iron
July Scoped
Winner for each class for each month.
Overall winner from both months, i.e. June and July scoped, June and July iron sights.
You have an opportunity to win bragging rights in 5 areas.

Re: 100 Yard Sniper Postal Shoot June-July
It's been about two months since I last went to the range, and the results agree, I need to shoot more.
Re: 100 Yard Sniper Postal Shoot June-July
How important is original military configuration? I have a Tula 91/30 where the rear sight base was removed to install a scout scope on the rear dovetail. Is that too "permanently altered" for this match? (Whatever else happens, I think I'm going to need a sporter match at some point).
Thanks.

Re: 100 Yard Sniper Postal Shoot June-July
That pretty much is outside the rules.
Modern equipment casts questions of technology advancement. While the scope may be similar to the PU scope it is not the configuration issued with the rifle.
Starting a sporterized thread would qualify it.

I'm disappointed that we had no participation this time. It doesn't stop you from participating in the next round though.
