So, I went to the range today with my Venezuelan Heartbreaker (link: https://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewt ... ?f=8&t=372 ) and a couple of other 7x57 Mausers. Weather was muggy and 76 degrees. Negligible wind.

After finishing the work with the others (testing handloads using 175-grain RNSPs), I got out the Vene and used a SRF target to get the Mojo Snapsights dialed in (I have a thread about Mojo Snapsights somewhere, too).

Using Buffalo Arms' swaged-up .287" 154-grain SPs over a middling load of H4831, I shot the following target. (Although I marked it 3X, I'll concede the third one: it's hard to be sure. . . .)

If y'all read the link, you'll see what a long strange trip I've had with this rifle, but I've learned a lot from working on it . . . and I promise you, it made me proud today.

Nice shooting with the 7x57 Prof!

I had some fun developing a cast load for my Danzig 1895 Gew 1888 this past weekend:

Using a trim die to form 8x57 from 30-06 has been very helpful. I used the Lee 8mm Maximum mold and some vectan powder for this.

Nice target, Cattus B. And nice rifle. Love the hat!

(Looks like you're still up in the Adirondacks?)

Thank You!

I'm still living in the northern woods.

I got out to the range this afternoon. At the end of the session, toward sundown, I got out my 24/47, did a quick sight in, and shot a target. Sadly, after the first mag, I realized the rounds were hitting low. I raised the sight one click (to 200 yards) and that helped some. In any case, here's today's target.

Hello Everyone,

I have been testing cast loads with my DWM made Mauser Argentino 1891. I am very happy with the load.

I used the 400 m sight setting and used a center hold for this one. The Lyman 314299 GC bullet is a good one. I will play with this load at 100 and 200.
