Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Any Interest in a Sporters / Hunters Postal Match?

#1 Post by professrh » Wed Apr 18, 2018 9:11 pm

Just curious. I have a couple of nice sportered Mausers (pawn shop finds) and two or three no-alterations-needed scoped rifles, otherwise unmolested. I have hunted (and put meat on the table) with all of them.

Would anyone be interested in a Postal Match focusing on this class of surplus rifle?

I'm in...

I have my 6.5 Dutch Sporter and my '61 Parker-Hale Musketoon that I hunt with. No scopes unfortunately for me...

Maybe the course of fire should be 2 off hand and 3 from a supported position?

Or maybe keep it at ten rounds, 8 supported (field positions) and two offhand? I'm spoiled, I guess, by Alabama's long deer season, but I very rarely shoot at game offhand. If I can't find a tree to brace on, or take a knee, or sit, I'm probably not going to fire.
