Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

100 yard Sniper Oct-Nov

#1 Post by jones0430 » Mon Oct 02, 2017 9:56 pm

This event allows both scoped and iron sights. Not all snipers used scopes, so this includes our eagle eyed friends.

1. Only military surplus rifles may be used. Bolt action or semi-auto. The rifle must have been issued by a military somewhere on the planet. Generally this means anything that's a C&R or antique and is a military rifle.

2.Sniper rifles may be scoped or you may shoot an with iron sights. There are, therefore, two classes for this postal shoot, Iron sights and scoped.

a. Scopes may be as originally issued, reproduction, or commercial as long as they are no better than the originally issued scope. For instance, on a Mosin Nagant, a 3.5 power
scope.

b. Iron sights that have been upgraded. For example, Smith Sights.

3. All shooting must be done at 100 yard, prone or bench. Slings are allowed. Full rest on bags is also allowed.

4.You may submit up to two targets per month, the best score to be your record target.

5. Winners to be announced after the end of September!

Course of Fire: 10 Shots for record on the target at the bottom of this post. You may use a military style sling in "hasty-sling" configuration. You may use a bag rest. NO Bench rests (Lead Sled and similar). You may take unlimited sighters at any target other than your record target from any position.

Please write your forum handle, rifle/load, position, Iron sight or scope, and score on the target.

You only get ONE record target per month, so make sure your shots are good ones. Please annotate the target before you scan it or take a picture of it.

The classes are:
October Iron
October Scoped
November Iron
November Scoped

Winner for each class for each month.
Overall winner from both months, i.e. Oct and Nov scoped, Oct and Nov iron sights.

You have an opportunity to win bragging rights in 5 areas.

Use the SRF Target 2014.

I want to shoot my M16A1 clone again, it is at the gunsmith now and should be back to me by Friday.
nothing wrong with my firearm, he is looking at my org upper and getting some measurements off of it for a clone he is working on.

Cool. I liked the M16A1. I also liked the M1 Garand and M14.

Heck I liked the Gladius that was issued to me.

I picked up a nice Swiss 1911 a few weeks ago locally. Love those Swiss rifles! I was shooting Prvi Soft Points from a forearm rest with iron sights. I am going to try and find a taller front sight as she shoots pretty high or install my Swiss Products scope mount from my 96/11.
