Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

German MEN 303

#1 Post by Captk » Mon Sep 24, 2018 9:54 am

Has anyone tried this ammo? I picked up 1K from SG Ammo, 500 rnds packed in a 50 cal can. I planned on saving this for when all my HXP ammo is gone. Was wondering if anyone picked any up and how it shot. It's berdan primed but @ $.50 per round delivered I can live with that.

Looks like it is dated 1983 and real clean ammo. Not bad at 50 cents per round. Everyone in the reviews loves the stuff. There are some pictures of it here:

THIS MAY BE A WELL HID BUY ! :shhh: :shhh: :shhh: :shhh: :shhh: :shhh: :shhh:

Really clean ammo, consistently groups well out of a No4 Mk2

The best 303 ammo money can buy, no question about it. This stuff is the 'real deal' military grade and modern manufacture too. When you see it is German made ammo you know its going to be top-shelf quality. I purchased multiple cans that were all 1983 manufacture

Hands down this is the best surplus 303 ammo ever. Buy bulk, stack this ammo while you can

I have a 1917 Lee Enfield and this ammo works great through it. My Enfield keyholes boat tail ammo, but not this ammo. I am so thankful that they have it because I love to shoot this old rifle! This ammo looks brand new. I had PPU ammo at the range in 303 and this 1980 stuff looked just as good. I guess I'll have to order the 500 rounds now.

I bought I think around 10,000 rounds of this stuff over the course of several orders to feed my Bren MK1. I have not gotten a chance to fire any of it yet, but I did inspect a couple cans, and it is extremely clean looking ammo. Looks brand new. Considering that, and looking at several reviews below, I have no doubt that this stuff with function flawlessly. Get it while you can. Military grade 303 for around $0.50/round shipped? Thats hard to beat! And will this ever be available again? I doubt it. I think I still need more!!! :) Thanks SG Ammo!

I could not believe they had this surplus ammo in stock! It is as described. Extremely clean on the exterior and burns as clean as any modern factory or reloaded ammo I have shot. The chronograph shows an average velocity of 2,451 fps from an Enfield No. 4 Mk 2. Reloading the Berdan primed brass was easy to do. This ammo was such a relief to find after a bad experience with 1940's ammo that who knows where it was stored over the years resulting in hang fires. SGAmmo is my first stop when looking for ammo. Thank you folks at SGAmmo!!

Forgotten one thing not just about the 303.All of my orders over the years and it has never been one bad dealing with you as a company. Family owned is the. Way all companies should do business sorry for dragging this out

I have never sent in a review of any thing in my 47 years of life but i am proud of a company that said something and it could have never been more true of the. Product. I have order from other people who are not let's say as small of a company as your company and gotten subtended products for much more $ i wanted to thank you for being a company of your. Word P.S i have put thousands of rds down range most at my $. Thank you once more.

I wish I could afford more of this, Could only get 1 can. Stuff inside looks like new, the can is in good condition, no rust on mine. And at 24 cents cheaper per round (even with a steel ammo can) than the Serbian PPU (which is great ammo too) you literally cant go wrong with this. Great German (MEN) made ammo for the same price I have seen Pakistani POF junk ammo go for. What a buy, THANKS SG AMMO, I LOVE YOU GUYS!

I didn't open the 2 cans I bought, still have 5K+ of HXP that I will go thru. If the quality is as good as other MEN ammo I have purchased should be good stuff.

I bought 1,000 rounds of it about 20 years ago. As noted, it's 1980's German-made .303, Berdan primed, 174 grain bullet. It's probably the most accurate service grade stuff I've ever used. I still have about 200 rounds left.

SG Ammo carries it and it's 46 cents/round if you buy a 500-round case. Otherwise, $10 for a box of 20. Shipping costs are not too bad either.
