I just bought a Star Super B (9x19) from guns america it is was made in 1975 and is from israeli contract. It has the same issue as my other star super B about every 3 rounds a bullet gets jammed in the barrel before the other round gets chambered. I removed the extractor and it was really dirty cleaned and it jams less frequently now but still does the same thing. Im assuming its the extractor due to I have replaced the recoil springs tried 6 different mags. My question is I actually found a place that has them in stock But they said that had them for A, B, S and Super. I ordered the one for super Im hoping I ordered the right one. I hear that these are very reliable guns I own 4 and two have issues the other two dont.

thanks

have you checked to be sure you have a b extractor and not an a extractor. the 9x19 and the 9x23 largo have a slightly different rim and extractor groove. the 9x19 has a thinner rim and shallower groove then the 9mm largo. but as but calibers were made on the same basic pistol the extractors will interchange. take a 9x19 case and your striped slide and slip the case under the extractor. if the claw seems to be hitting the case well forward of the rim and high in the groove you probably have an a extractor. i will try to get a couple of pics if you need them. as the parts are interchangeable most places have them all in one bin and you get what you get if the extractor is even available. over the years there have been many changes to the extractors with not much to tell them apart except by measuring the one you have. now i have welded up an a extractor and filed it to fit a b when i could not get the right extractor. luckily the extractors on stars are not prone to breakage and once you get one working properly they will last until the pin falls out and the extractor goes flying off into the grass at the range. good luck stars are good pistols, once you get them running the stay running for a long time.

The extractor I bought worked perfectly. I actually cannabilized the star I just bought and put the new extractor in another star super B (1972) i had that I was restoring and also took the thumbsaftey and put it in the other star now that star works great and has a safety lol, if you look at the old extractors you can see where the edge has curled in and is not grabbing the case, you compare it to the new one and night and day. The other star is just going to be part gun, now. I actually carry it in my car now I have shot 500 rds no issues now. I do have a WWII star model B, that I bought from aimsurplus a year or two back and it works great but the trigger has really bad creep any suggestions on a trigger job? I love these old pistols too bad the company went belly up in the 90's their parts are now scatter to the four corners of the globe, but found a place in South Dakota that has tons and tons of star parts. You have to order by phone if you like the info I could provide it for you

thanks

stake the pin if you have trouble with it climbing out. the extractor pin, I mean. My son's did. Your gunsmith can do it pretty inexpensively.

PS Yes, we'd like the Dakota company's ph# for parts!
