Does a Megastar count! :) They were Stars on steroids! They were available in .45 ACP or 10mm in the 1990's.

Those were good shooters. I have a friend that had one in 10mm. They were kind of hefty in hand but that helped control recoil. His was accurate.

Here is a Super Model B in 9mm Parabellum instead of the usual 9mm Largo...

Seems to be dated "72" on the trigger guard web..

Good looking pistol there Vonmazur. I see you from Pinson. Is TK still hanging around the boards? He's from around the B'ham area. He and I met up at a couple of the gunshows at the BJCC back around 2008.

This one is at my house starting this week.... Image

BS, told serial number makes it a 73. Haven't looked it up yet... it shoots great and functions flawlessly...need to find another mag now

here are some more stars

just got this 1975 star b super

Image

a star bm

Image

and a 43 Bulgarian contract star b and yes it was dipped

Image

i have a super a but for some reason i don't have pictures of that sarco c&r piece that shoots way better then it looks.

the only problem i have with stars is mags. i got 4 with my super a when i order it. the bm came with 2 but the b has only one as does the super b. the super b and super a mags are close enough that they will work in the super b but not 100%. oh well i get to work on my clearing drills.

love my stars. well made pistols that fit my hand with all the controls in the right places. what can i say i grew up on gi style 1911s.

An interesting foot-note on the Star pistols is that when the US Gov'mt was looking to replace the 1911 pistol and go to 9mm, the Star "Firestar" did very well. A well made and accurate pistol.

I manage a gun show for our VFW Post here in western Wisconsin. (also take a couple of tables at the show) the show ran this past weekend and on Sat. a guy came to my table with a Militar Modelo 1920. (the one made with the safety on the slide). we agreed on $175 for the gun and now it is home with me. Great gun and in good condition. I am anxious to get some 9mm Largo ammo and shoot it. It also is marked with the "38" below the 9mm so can fire .38 acp. Will post pics soon.

Bob: That is .38 Browning Long...also called 9 mm Browning Long...I got one too, and it is the neatest Star I own, I love the safety on the slide in all its funky Hispanic Glory....If you have a Husqvarna Mod 1907, then you have an excuse to buy some .38 Brng. Long from Samco....Of course it will shoot the Spanish made 9 mm Largo just fine....I actually found some original mags for mine...in a box of mags at the last show, I could not believe my luck....

Thanks Dale for the reply, I had a guy come by my table at the show with a Husky 1907 (he wanted too much for the pistol) I did not realize that the browning cartridge was the same as the .38 acp. I appreciate your input. The star is a neat gun and, since it's my only grandson's birthday, he will be the proud owner of this pistol.

Bob: Just one thing, do not use 38 Super in these guns, for years there was a myth that it was OK to use in the Star and Astra pistols chambered in 9 mm Largo/.38 Auto....Not true...
