Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Vintage Prvi?

#1 Post by shoggoth80 » Mon Jun 19, 2017 9:45 pm

So while I was out hunting through some shops with a friend, I found some 6.5x55. It's in a Century box. Still says made in Yugoslavia, so that places it prior to 2000 if I'm not mistaken. It's definitely Prvi, has the nny head stamp. Primer is sealed, green. Very reminiscent of other Yugo surplus, except for the color (I'm used to seeing orange). If the other boxes are still there next paycheck, I'll probably buy the lot. Lol.

Back in the 1980s and 90s Prvi was making contract runs for both Hansen Cartridge Co and Century. Some had custom Headstamps and some came in with the nny headstamp. The green primer paint was common on Prvi commercial ammunition.

Being Prvi, this also means I'm saving all the brass. Lol.

The packaging also says as much. Lol.

I know right? Any good stash of metric calibers is a small miracle for me these days.

The Privi factory has been making ammo for ages. It's under a mountain in serbia or bosnia I think. The old 50's 8mm ammo was made in the same factory.

That's a neat tidbit of info. Didn't know that. Something new everyday.
On a side note, I cleaned out all there was the other week. :)

Privi has been around long time and has blow up a few times as well. They are one of the best ammo makers in the world.
