LUCKY DAY AT THE RANGE

Today was my lucky day at the range. Someone must have been cleaning out his basement and left a lot of boxes of bullets for anyone who wanted them. I got 600 8mm bullets ranging from 150 grains to 200 grains, Hornady and Sierra. He must have had them for quite a while. Using the inflation calculator the original price on the cardboard boxes indicates these were originally purchased around 1995. Those with lead tips were oxidized like old lead does. There were also some .308 but I don't reload for that caliber, so left them for someone else. :D

My unknown benefactor struck again. Today at the range he left a box of 20 "Goex Black Dawge Cartridges", 45-70 405 gr. bullets with RNFP black powder. They look old but I've never heard of these before so can't say for sure.

I hope he has a lot more supplies to leave.

I went to the range today with my trapdoor Springfield and fired off those Black Dawge Goex loads. They turned out to be very accurate and the cloud of powder smoke was amazing. Thanks to my anonymous benefactor.
