It all started like this...Hey you got anything new?......Got this Ray Gun looking pistol. Ahhh got to see it. So I bought this nice looking CZ-52 that is in 9mm (written on barrel that matches S/N of rest of gun). I read some where that since it does not say 9mm Luger it is a OEM match barrel and maybe not one from CZ. Got one mag with it and all parts look in very good shape including the firing pin. Any pointers, ID help or fact checking (got my facts from the internet and we all know you cannot trust stuff posted to the internet). Would like to get another mag and have found some "original" looking ones for $31 and some aftermarket ones (very good 20+ reviews) for $21 or $22. One mag fit both 7.62 and 9mm right? What about finding a 7.62 barrel or barrel kit with the rollers and all? Can these be found and is it worth my time and bucks?

Thanks,
Kevin

PS hope to shoot it on Sunday!

7.62 CZ-52 owners do you long for the 9mm luger version? Do you 9mm CZ-52 owner pine for the original 7.62 and why? I am trying to decide if I need or want to get a 7.62 barrel and or barrel kit with all the rollers and such.

get the barrel for 7.62 its cheap and there fore you can keep it original if you want for shooting purposes 9mm is nice though. although 7.62 tok is decently priced and now available. use what it was designed for

Yes! the 9mm and 7.62 use the same mag.
As for the firing pin being brittle? well get one if you want. I got 10 years on my factory pin and it just hasnt shattered like the guys that sell the replacements say. I still got a spare.
I dropped a CZ military 9mm barrel in mine.
I love it.
Best thing about it is 9mm is cheap and every place.
7.62 surplus has about dried up and is getting expensive.
The sights are fine with either barrel or ammo. althought the 9mm takes it from a 100 yard pistol to a 50 yard pistol.
If youre is a non refirb it should have a sweet, light, very fast firing trigger, and a light gray finish.
It is it s refirb it will be black and have about a 17 ton trigger pull.

OK I found and ordered a 7.62 NOS barrel with rollers and roller assembly and including a main spring.

Has anyone bought one of these magazines:

http://www.keepshooting.com/cz-52-pistol-magazine.html

I was thinking I would get one of these as it is different then the original (and cheaper) but still looks to be good by reviews. I would have different mags for different bullets/barrels.

Thanks,
Kevin

Oh and I shot the CZ today.....First test round at 7 yards was a bullseye. The next clip was one 10 and seven bullseyes.

The remainder were all tight groups. Happy!
