Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

refinish my m1 carbine stock

I bought this Inland m1 from CMP, it had a Polyurethane finish. I did not care for the feel of it, so I used formby's paint and poly remover which took the poly off and half of the red stain.I used dark walnut gun stock stain #69 then 2 coats of BLO and 2 coats of TOM'S 1/3 MIX. I like the darker look and the smell of the wood.

the before picture looks 1million times better then the stock on my CMP carbine that was a Italian return.

this was a Italian ( FAT) marked stock

mine is also stamped FAT. don't know the kind of stock they used on mine, looks like its fruit wood, a very light brown
