Greetings all,

I'm looking for some quality 8mm Nambu ammo. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Check out Mr. Nambu on Gun Broker. Hear good things about his loads.

Mr. Nambu's website is http://www.macsguns.com/
I've bought several orders of ammo from him and have been well pleased.

I snagged dies to reload with. Components are problematic. I've bought from the above gentleman and I have had good luck, but at a $1 a round, I'm reloading those cases...

Greetings all,

I purchased a box of 50 8mm Nambu rounds from mr. nambu. Most of the rounds will not fit into the magazine because the bullets are out too far. Just a few of the rounds have the bullets in far enough that they fit just right. Is there any place else I can get 8mm Nambu ammo? Thanks.

I did look on Old Western Scrounger but didn't see 8mm Nambu. I sent them an inquiry. I'm hesitant to buy from Mr.Nambu again because the ammo isn't cheap and most of the first 50 I bought isn't usable.

I haven't been to OWS website for years. I know they used to stock it. Oh well I guess demand is down. I see it listed at buffalo arms website (very pricey though).

I received a response from Old Western Scrounger stating they can no longer get the brass so they do not carry 8mm Nambu. :x

I read somewhere that the brass used by OWS to load 8 mm nambu came from HDS. If you go to HDS website they list 8 mm nambu brass at $29.98 per 50 pcs. When dealing with obscure cartridges like 8 mm nambu (and many others), reloading your own ammo simplifies things greatly and allows you to afford to shoot guns you otherwise couldn't.

I'd love to reload but I have nowhere to do it and have no idea where to get the tools and supplies.

I understand. It looks like you're locked into shooting factory ammo. At the prices you mentioned you aren't gonna be shooting it much. How does it shoot anyway? Those are very interesting guns (I've never seen one outside of books or the internet).

I reload on my coffee table sometimes and used to use my bookshelf. You'd be surprized how little space you need for a simple set up. I use a couple of C clamps to secure my RCBS Reloader Special 2 to a junk end-table and use another as a stand for for a scale.
It takes a little bit of an investment to get started but a simple set-up could be bought used on e-bay or the swaping and selling section of the forums.

If you want to get into reloading then I am sure there are many members here that can point you in the right direction, including what limited advice I can offer.

I may just make the investment to start loading my own 8mm Nambu. My Nambu shoots great. When I first got it the firing pin tip was missing so I sent it out to be fixed and had a replacement made as well. I'm using the replacement in my Nambu. Where can I get the tools to load 8mm Nambu? What powder would I use? I think I got bit by the bug. Any and all input welcome. :thumb:

My nambu is also a great shooter, accurate, good trigger, and low recoil, only price of ammo keeps me from bringing it out more. I get about 200 rounds from a reloader at a gunshow a few years back. Shoot like 10 rounds a year. Of course I scour for the brass.

I dont currently reload but I understand brass can be made from 40 S&W cases.

Good luck.
