Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Burns AKA Milstuff Refuses to Honor $380 Winning Bid on M39

#1 Post by capt14k » Mon Jul 24, 2017 10:36 am

I had always given Burns' the benefit of the doubt and had bought multiple items from them. That is until now. I was the winning bidder on this matching SAKO M39 yesterday at $380.

http://www.gunbroker.com/item/668325463

Today I get an email (from I believe one of the sons) stating they won't honor the bid because their policy for 2-3 years has been not to ship to NJ. I explained that in August and December this was not an issue and I forwarded the emails from Pat where she specifically stated that as long as my FFL would accept shipment from them directly then bidding would be fine and they would ship to my FFL in NJ. That of course was on rifles priced $500-800. Now that I win one under $400 the no shipping to NJ rule has been reinstated. His reply was their policy changes daily. Which is BS because the same wording yesterday was the same wording in August and December. I for one will never buy anything from them again. If the extra $100 they may get out of the rifle is that important to them so be it.

If Ronald30078 is a member here contact Milstuff to claim your M39 at $375. They said they would honor the second high bid.

Because your in NJ he will not ship to you? I'm confused on why NJ will not let someone ship an M39 there..

NJ will to FFL. It is purely their own personal decision.

It's not worth it. They will just leave retaliatory feedback. They said they would honor the second high bid. Hopefully they can make the deal happen.

Hey just claim your high bid and have it shipped to me, you were bidding for me. I'll gladly add it to my collection.

I tried that. I didn't think they would have an issue with it being it is $5 more than the second high bidder.

While I agree that this is a dick move, it says right in the listing "NYC, NJ AND HAWAII DO NOT BID"

Unless they edited the listing to add that after you bid, I suppose that they have the right to refuse to honor your bid. Might have come down to what side of the bed they got up from in the morning.

It does say that but he had bought from the seller before. If the bid was for $450 he would have shipped it to him. I guarantee it.
