Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

High Point 45 Cal Carbine
I bought one of the 45 Cal High Point carbines and I have to say for a cheap and ugly firearm they work really well. I bought it for fun and to shoot ground higs up around dads barn got 5 last year all less than 20 yards.
Re: High Point 45 Cal Carbine
My cousin has one and likes it but says it is a pita to disassemble.
Re: High Point 45 Cal Carbine
How much does it weigh? Any cycling issues?

Re: High Point 45 Cal Carbine
Everyone was really looking forward to these until they decided not to use 1911 magazines. Still think that was a really dumb move on their part.

You can get a $30 kit to change them over to 1911 mags or a company is now selling a 20 round mag

Re: High Point 45 Cal Carbine
They PURPOSELY designed their own magazine such that it would be 10-rnds or less ONLY, as this rifle was specifically designed around or to be exempt from the ‘AW Bans’ or any permutation thereof.
That said, I have one in 9mm and it is 100% reliable and incredibly accurate. To me there is too much hardware hanging off it, so I removed all the shrouds and such and just out a red-dot sight up on top ... baseball-sized groups offhand @ 50-yards ...

This is the kit you can buy not sure if I will get one or not. I put a red dot on mine. You will have to copy the link and then paste into you browser.

Re: High Point 45 Cal Carbine
I figured since I have a .45 1911 and a Sar K2 in .45 might as well have a Carbine in .45. Next I am going to sell an extra Garand and get a Thomson in .45.
Re: High Point 45 Cal Carbine
I have their 9mm, .40 s&w & .45acp carbines and they are all dependable and fun guns to shoot. Pretty accurate too. They came out with one in 10mm recently also. They have a life time warranty also although I've never sent one in. Hi Points seem to not have a good reputation but I think a lot of that comes from people who have never shot one.

Only thing I don't like is it slaps your face a little when you shoot them so I taped foam to it and made a cheek rest. Gorilla tape hold everything lol

I too have noticed that..Hippycrowe wrote: ↑Wed Apr 04, 2018 7:27 pmOnly thing I don't like is it slaps your face a little when you shoot them so I taped foam to it and made a cheek rest. Gorilla tape hold everything lol
It doesn't bother me so much as it used to, but it does get annoying.
Also, if you have a beard be aware the small gap in the stock flexes during firing.
It will pull your whiskers out if your cheek weld gets too close.
No biggie.. just some observations. Shoots great.

Not affiliated, but have both the pistol & the carbine catch. Only run FMJ, but have never had a missfeed, even with my 10 round ProMag 1911 mag or the $15 15 round gun show 1911 mag.
