I keep a first aid kit in the truck. Any emergency that I can't fix with that is beyond me and needs and immediate evac. I was in the Army and was trained for some basic stuff but anything more than a tourniquet and bandages requires a hospital.

Honestly, the only thing we should be doing is applying pressure and trying to stop the bleeding until the professionals get there. Anything more than that and you tend to cause more problems then you solve. Let the trained professionals handle the situation and do what you can until they arrive. Your first step should always be to call for EMTs and try to stop bleeding.
