These are some of my 1911 projects. All are in .45ACP. All were a lot of fun to put together. That shiny "pimp gun" probably took the most man hours. Sanding and polishing the stainless frame and slide.

That is a SARCO kit with GI parts and a Rock Island frame.

How much would it $$$ to put a 1911 together from parts?? Thinking of doing it... Just built my own AR rifle.

I have not done one for years now and I believe a lot of the parts from Sarco have dried up. Frames can still be had for around $200. If you can get the parts kit from Sarco somewhere north of $400 probably.http://www.e-sarcoinc.com/451911autobui ... e.aspxJust checked this. Makes it less than $400 unless you want to go with some other parts like I did. I changed the style of hammer on most of mine. Well that link is a partial dud. Scroll down to kits and their less frame kit is available for about $150. Whoops, Just noticed that is less frame and slide. You can get slides elsewhere for less than their compensated one.
