Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Smith and Wesson model 52-2

#1 Post by Calfed » Sat May 02, 2020 4:56 pm

Last month I glommed something that has been on my wish list for a long time...A model 52. It landed at my FFL a few weeks ago and I got a chance to look it over before it went into his safe for the mandatory 10 day "cooling-off" period.

The auctioneer told me that it had been owned by a local collector who had passed away and was in excellent shape. After looking it over, I had to agree...

Single or double stack? Nice lines/profile.

Well...it uses a 5 round magazine, so definitely single stack.

The DROS system finally wheezed back to life and I was able to pick up my 52. I agree with the people who say it looks better with the wood grips. It shoots .38 special mid-range wadcutters. Reputed to be extremely accurate. I'll post a range report when able.
