Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

#1 Post by wpflgun » Wed Aug 16, 2017 10:07 am

I heard there was a later version with aluminum frame. Where would one be found?

The BM was a steel-framed pistol. The one you are referring to is the BKM or BKS. The BKM is the same size as a BM; the BKS is a bit larger and has a magazine safety. The BKS was also sold as the "Starlite" model.

BM's are fairly easy to find. The BKM and BKS, not so much. I would guess that Gunbroker is your best bet. Otherwise, just dumb luck to stumble across one in a LGS.

I can across a BKM over the winter at a local gun shop. Price for it was $450. Bit steep for a Star pistol in my opinion.

I don't think either the BKM or BKS was in production long. I keep hearing stories about problems with the alloy frames cracking, although I really do not know how prevalent that was.
