Grips and the 82

Many wooden grips will crack over time when tightened.

The cure a rubber o-ring between the frame and the grip, a small one. It acts as a lock washer and a buffer. The right size will be found when you don't see the wood flex when tightened, but the grip is solid, so get an assortment.

Just a tidbit from the school of hard knocks. Most wood grips have a space between the frame and the grip, when you tighten the grip, this puts stress on the wood, hence the crack.
