Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Part 19, the slide catch. There was a company offering newly made replace, ents with a thumb release. It was a direct swap out.
Might want to get that and maybe one of the new made firing pins.
Word is the originals are brittle. So no dry firing. And dont trust the decocker either.
Otherwise they are cool pistols.

You might want to make the slide is clear of debris and burnt powder..
Alex has nos catches without the thumb release.
I found this new made one, old stock on ebay.
Harrington see,s to have stopped making them.

Not sure what you are asking, but here are some links to slide problems. Look at part 19, the bar, for wear and the magazines for wear. It is a nice pistol to look at, but not to shoot. Bad springs, mags, bars, firing pins ,de cockers, triggers, slides.... I will take a Tokarev any day. My 1952 CZ 52 sits on the wall. One had to replace the spring, firing pin, rollers and use grease. Lots of problems with these dogs----just do a search :violin: Best quote of the day:
As a general rule, we NEVER trust the decocker on a Czech-O-Matic.
Here is an interesting old report: SmallArmsReview

As Charles indicated look this part 19 over for crisp edges, and be sure the mag activates the bar and it moves. Check contact spots for wear:

  You can search out "common problems with a CZ 52", or " slide problems with a cz 52". There are pages and pages of old posts showing defects/problems when these first came out cheep at $159 around 2005-2007. I like its looks, a bulky, chunk of metal, but as a reliable pistol, give me a Tok any day. :shifty:

What he said. :)
I wanted one since the mid 80s when I first read about them. They looked cool and I really like the caliber.
At the time they were rare here in the states and thus expensive. The few I saw were 400 + and way out of my price line.
I never thought I'd own one then the wall cam down and the flood came in the 90s. I finally got one in March 1995 for 97$, same order I bought a Russian tt as for 79.95 with holster, spare mag and lanyard.
Both have appreciated nicely. :)

Were I designing the cz 52 I'd have used tt 33 mags and the slide release with c clip.
And the p 38 grips.
Soviet mags are great and plentiful.
I have fairly large hands but the cz feels like gripping a 2x4.
It too rides the pine.
I would grab any of my Tokarevs over the lone cz in my collection, including the one I built from parts from China, Russia and Yugoslavia. And I have yet to actually test fire that one. :)

Thanks guys. The problem is a weak magazine spring. I will be contacting Wolff and ordering a three pack. One mag works fine pushing up on the lever, the other one not so much. I already have a Harrington firing pin and rollers installed.

I also ordered a 16.5 LB recoil spring as the original was slightly bowed.
